Day Care

Oldbury Grange now offers a daycare package, to include transport if required, lunch, tea, morning activities (content will change dependant on which days the client attends), a bath and hairdressing if required. This service will cost £40.00 per day, plus extra for hairdressing.

April 2007 Newsletter

Welcome to April newsletter. I hope you all had a Happy Easter.

Raised flower beds

As spring approaches we start to turn our attention to the garden.

With Oldbury Grange being no exception, we hope that within the next few weeks, the raised beds will start to take shape and we can begin to plan and plant out vegetables and flowers.

Ivybank House is an imposing period residence

With the help of local businesses, we hope to get compost, vegetables, flowers and other materials. If there are any Alan Titchmarsh gardeners out there who could offer advice or spare a few plants we would be very grateful.

We have already made a start by planting a few potatoes in a large pot outside on the patio, hopefully we will soon be tucking into lovely new potatoes

Lap quilts

We thank the members of the Severn Valley Handicraft Guild of Bridgnorth who recently presented the home with individually designed lap quilts. The Residents really appreciated using them during the recent spell of cold, snowy weather in February and March.

Easter Treats

Thanks to Magna Foods who have donated a number of Easter eggs, which were dis­tributed amongst the residents over the Easter weekend.

 

Mayoral visit

The Mayor and Mayoress, Councillor Mr and Mrs I.R.F Seivewright talked with the residents and staff before joining everyone to enjoy a traditional Christmas Dinner followed by Christmas pudding with Brandy Sauce or sherry trifle. Our thanks to all the staff especially those who prepared and cooked such a delicious meal.

 

Bits and pieces

Mr Douglas Round, the son of the late Harry Round, has very kindly donated a large roll-up silver screen for which the home is very grateful. The residents are hoping that volunteer projectionists will entertain them with slide or film shows.

Up and coming events

Holy Communion services take place in the Nursing Unit at 14.30 hrs and in the Residential Unit at 15.00 Hrs on the following dates: -

Wednesday 16th May 2007

Arrangements have been made for Residents to attend the 10.30am Parish Communion Common Prayer Book service at St. Nicholas Church, Oldbury, on the 2nd Sunday in each Month.

Easter Service is scheduled for 17th April in the Residents Lounge from 18.30. The local ministry team will lead the service supported by the Oldbury and Quatford choirs. Organist Mrs C.Wall..

Syd, a chair-bound resident has not played cribbage, 2 or 4 hand, for many years and would like to start playing again. Can you help? Any morning, afternoon or evening? If you can talk about dog-breeding all the better.

Summer Fayre Date

Last but by no means least the date has been set for the summer Fayre. It will be held on Saturday 9th June 2007 at 2pm.
