Fees

Residential and nursing fees are determined on the basis of room grade. Prior to admission the care needs of each resident will be carefully assessed by the Home's Manager or her designated deputy (except on occasions where a resident is admitted at very short notice, in which case the assessment may take place immediately following admission). The assessment will confirm that the care required is within the scope of the Homes' resources.

  Payment of fees

Long-term residential fees are payable monthly in advance by the 25th day of the preceding month by standing order.

Additional costs: fees do not cover the cost of such items as specialist magazines and newspapers (although a free selection of popular newspapers are available in the lounge areas) hairdresser, chiropodist, aromatherapy, beautician, dry cleaning, personal clinical supplies, taxis, clothing or purchases of other personal items. Where such additional items are provided by the home at the request of the client, the client will be charged at cost price.

Should a resident require an accompanying carer for a private trip (e.g.. theatre, shopping etc.) this service will be charged at cost price, and we request reasonable notice (normally 24 hours).

 Review of fees

Fees are reviewed annually on 1st April each year to cover inflation and increases in staff costs. A minimum of four weeks notice of such increases will be given in writing.

Management also reserve the right to review fees; a) to adjust for a clients care level supplement if his or her needs change, and b) should additional services be required as a result of changes in Care Home regulations. In either such circumstances the client or clients representative will be notified in writing, and the increase will take effect with the next monthly account due.

 Assistance with fees

Assistance may be available from your local Social Services Department towards the cost of residential fees if your capital resources fall below certain government criteria. Please contact your local Department of Social Services for details.

Although our standard fee levels are higher than the amount currently paid by Local Authorities, enquiries from potential clients who are partly assisted by Social Services are welcomed.
